William Dunn Moseley was born on February 1, 1795 in Lenior County, North Carolina. He graduated from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina in 1818. He practiced law at Wilmington, North Carolina. Moseley was elected to the North Carolina Senate in 1829, and served until 1836. He was the unsuccessful Democratic candidate for Governor in North Carolina in 1834. Moseley bought a plantation on Lake Miccosukee in Jefferson County, Florida in 1835. H...
